Isn't this a cute block? It's the first in a Block of the Month series by Susan Guzman. You can sign up for the series, and she will very kindly send each design to you by email when it is released. I thought this one was whimsical and would be great for using up some polka dots and miscellaneous brights. I'm looking forward to the February block in this series, as well as the one that Debi is doing through Quilting Passion Forum.
Our son called last night and said that he and DDIL had heard the heartbeat of the new baby she is carrying! It is a fast heartbeat, which he said is probably another girl. We already know, since we have darling granddaughter Avery, that they make wonderful girls, so that is fine with us. Whichever way it turns out, we are thrilled to welcome little "Jellybean", as we are calling the baby now.

Your block is gorgeous..I don't know if I am going to do this one yet. I keep looking at it...it would take me forever to hand applique...though I need the challenge.
That block is just delightful Sheryl. So happy and cheerful. I am still trying to decide if I want to do this one. Seeing yours makes me really wanna. LOL
What a darling block--so cheerful looking--you did a great job!!
Thanks, ladies! You are right, Debi--it is a challenging block for hand applique. You could enlarge it on a copier and make it as a medallion center. The pieces would be a lot easier to handle and you wouldn't be commited to a whole year of this BOM.
Wow! That is absolutely gorgeous! Love the bright colors you used. I need to get myself out this funk and get to sewing something. Thanks for the inspiration!
